Armitage, Francis, of the township of Tyendinaga, formerly of County of Tipperary, Ireland, age 78 years. Buried in Vandibogert's [sic] Cemetery, Napanee, October 23, 1860. Armour, Hobert [sic] - Died at his house in St. Urban Street [Quebec?], on the morning of the 16th inst., Hobert Armour Esq., a merchant of this city for many years and Master of the Trinity House at Montreal, aged 76 years. Mr. Armour was a native of Kilmarnock, Scotland and has been a resident of Canada for 59 years. Napanee Standard, April 23, 1857

Benjamin, George, Junior. Belleville-On Saturday last, George Benjamin, second son of George Benjamin, Registrar of the county of Hastings, and Grand Master of the Orange Order of Canada, aged 13 years, was drowned above the first mill dam on the river Moira, Belleville. Brothers, James and Sampson. The Schooner 'Brothers' was lost on the Lake with all hands on board. She left Niagara on Friday, 14th inst. with a cargo of cider &c., and about 12 or 15 passengers. On the Sunday following, two farmers living on the North Shore in Niagara County, on the American side, came to the frontier with the intelligence that they had descried a small schooner dismasted and keel uppermost driven ashore among the ice about 20 miles to the eastward of the Niagara River. Cassidy, James. On 25th of last month, we are informed, that the schooner Rover was overtaken by a heavy squall off Port Credit and went down with all hands on board. Cull, James, Junior. We have to announce the death of James Cull, Junior, of Bath, distiller, aged 37 years. It is a very singular coincidence that, on Sunday forthnight before, his brother-in-law, Mr. King, was taken ill of the same disease, inflammation of the brain, at Kingston, and died the Monday following. Dennee, William McK. Notice to all and every one indebted to the Estate of Wm. McK. Dennee. Having been authorized to collect the debts to the above named Estate, I beg to imform [sic] those parties, who are indebted to call and settle before the 28th day of February as all accounts unpaid on that day will be put in a Suit. Denike, Anthony (child of). Recently, as Mrs. Sam'l Baker, of Huntington, and the widow of the late Anthony Denike with the latter's child, a few weeks old, were returning home in a buggy, an accident occurred by which the child was killed instantly. The Brighton Sentinel, 14 October, 1853

Essen, Henry (Rev. Doctor). Died on the 11th inst., the Rev. Henry Esson, professor in Knox's College, Toronto, in his 61st year. A native of Aberdeen, Scotland, he emigrated to Canada in 1817 and was for 27 years pastor of St. Gabriel Church, Montreal. The Brighton Sentinel, 20 May, 1853

Gilmour, David. We have to record the death of David Gilmour, Esq., of this city [Quebec], at Rutland, where, a few days ago, while on his way to England, he was seized with illness which terminated fatally on Friday evening last. In the death of Mr. Gilmour, the city has lost one of its principal merchants and his family and acquaintances a much esteemed friend. He was in his forty-second year. Grace, Patrick. Inquest - An Inquest was held yesterday, the 11th instant, by Mr. Coroner Benson, on the body of Mr. Patrick Grace, Tailor, Wellington Street [Kingston] who was found dead in the the Bar-room of Mr. Hugh Strong's Tavern, Montreal Road. Hall, Sarah. Kingston-At the British American Hotel, Kingston, on Saturday, September 5th, Sarah, wife of Francis Hall, senior Editor and proprietor of the New York Commercial Advertiser, in the 61st year of her age. Mr. and Mrs. Hall were making their annual tour through Canada; and having visited Quebec and Montreal, were proceeding to the Falls. The Globe, Toronto, September 8, 1846

Ham, Elizabeth. At Ernestown, on 4th inst., Elizabeth, relict of the late John Ham, Sr., in the 82nd year of her age. Mrs. Ham emigrated to Canada in 1785, where she has lived to see the fourth generation. The Banner, Toronto, 9 May, 1845

Henderson, David. Kingston-David Henderson, from the Isle of Tanti [Amherst Island] was drowned in our Harbour when his skiff was rammed by a steamer. He leaves a widow and seven children. Hutton, David. [Kingston]. A man named David Hutton was drowned in our Harbour yesterday. Kingston News, August 24, 1846. Also copied to The Banner, Toronto, 4 September, 1846

Hyslop, A. (son of). The "Hastings Chronicle" last week records three deaths by drowning. Mrs. Parks of Madoc, sister-in-law of Cyrenus Parks, lately murdered at Hungerford Mills. She left a husband and seven children. Thomas Magennes, aged 60, who leaves an aged wife and several children. Also a son of Mr. A. Hyslop of Belleville, who died near one of the wharves. Livingston, a carpenter, was an American who resided on Long Island. Lucky, Jane. Found Dead - The body of an unknown child in the woods on the farm of the widow Blakeley, in the Township of Fredericksburgh on Friday evening, the 18th inst., by Daniel Putman and a Mr. Keech; an inquest was held on the body by Coroner, Jesse Shibley, and a verdict returned by the Jury that the said infant unknown found on Friday evening the 18th inst. was in [a] woods dead[;] from the decomposition which had taken place, it is impossible to detect any marks of violence, but they have good reason for believing that the infant's death was caused by unfair means, and think that the woman calling herself Jane Luckey was the principal actor in the affair.
